Carol Clewlow
A journalist by occupation, Carol Clewlow's first book in 1978 was a travel guide to Hong Kong and Macau for Lonely Planet - the second in the company's history. Keeping the Faith, her first novel a decade later, was short listed for the Whitbread Prize, while her second, the best-selling A Woman's Guide to Adultery, was translated into 15 languages and turned into a TV mini-series. A further novel, Love in the Modern Sense, plus a number of her short stories, have been broadcast on Radio 4 and a fourth, One For The Money, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe. She is a founder member of Operating Theatre, a groundbreaking organisation which brings together health professionals and members of the performing arts and for whom she writes drama for teaching purposes. Her latest novel, Not Married Not Bothered: An ABC for Spinsters, will be published in the UK in autumn 2005, as well as in several other European countries. |
